19th Century Bulgarian Ottoman Silver Bracelets

The design of these bracelets has changed little since medieval times and are believed to have developed from earlier Thracian silver bracelets with twisted wire bridges.

Many contain quiet silver rattles “The hollow areas inside the bracelet often contain beads that rattle as the wearer moved to ward off evil spirits.” see British Museum collection HERE

All the bracelets are all in excellent wearable condition. The collection includes two unusual matching pairs of bracelets.
