Beautiful old Konya cicim kilim No 2543

A beautiful embroidered kilim with an unusual and particularly harmonious colour palette from Konya in central Anatolia. Fine quality wool with excellent dyes on a natural dark brown sheep wool foundation, with angora wool ‘wishing tassles’ in the centre of some of the diamonds and in the borders. Woven as a yuk çulu bedding cover between the 1920s and 1940s. In excellent condition with some of the wishing tassels in the centre worn and a little surface wear to the çiçim at the lower right (see last photo). Size 155cm x 100cm. €495
