Late 18th to early 19th century Anatolian Karakecili tribe kilim No 9147


A rare type of Anatolian kilim woven by the Karakecili tribe probably living in western Cappadocia north of Aksaray, although the Kuthaya area of west Anatolia has also been suggested. Dating from the late 18th to early 19th century, wool including ivory white wool, on a wool warp with good dyes and complete with small losses and marks visible in the photos. For display or hanging, the kilim would benefit from backing on linen. Size 288cm x 68cm No 9147. Please enquire for price.
